About Commissioner Goodman

Commissioner Goodman and his wife Cheryl of 40 years have called rural Logan County home for the past 27 years. Commissioner Goodman became involved in local government after he retired from Hewlett Packard where he was responsible for supervising over 40 employees and had operational oversight of multiple US Government and commercial service accounts. During his professional career, Marven has managed a budget of up to $4 million per year. Just prior to working for HP he served for 27 years in the U.S. Army retiring from active duty with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. Now, as Logan County Commissioner, Marven seeks to bring this experience to the task of restoring fiscal conservatism to the Logan County budget. Commissioner Goodman continues to lead the effort to transform Logan County governance into a more statutory compliant, transparent and efficient state. Goodman has also led the opposition to the City of Guthrie's planned emergency services district expansion which could prove costly to the health and safety of many District 1 residents.
